Orthodontics for Children

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends the orthodontist see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic 

treatment is required and to advise the best time for patients to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually 

come in by age 7 and crossbites, crowding, and other problems

can be evaluated. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent


Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment, when it is indicated.

We offer a wide selection of braces for our younger patients, including metal braces, Damon®, frictionless braces, clear braces, and in select cases, Invisalign®.

Orthodontics for Adults

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. One of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21.

Dr. Pratt is a Certified Invisalign® Provider who has extensive training in treating cases of moderate difficulty with Invisalign®. We have private treatment rooms decorated with peaceful tranquility and televisions for our adult patients.

Our patients range from the very young (age 5 and younger!) to the "young at heart" (we have patients in their 70's and 80's) with treatments running from the most routine to the most complex. Dr. Pratt is glad to help you and your family with all of your orthodontic needs.
